Voda-Blog : 3/20/08 - A Much-Needed Breather, Easter and Bon Jovi
‘Ello all!
Well, we (and I mean YOU too) made it to the first off-weekend of the season.
After a monsoon in CA, high winds in Vegas, snow in Atl, and more rain in Bristol…is it just me or has Mother Nature made this first stretch feel a teensy bit longer than six weeks?! But after all of that, I’m STILL excited to be back in the middle of it all. Trust me, I DO NOT take it for granted!
I know a lot of the drivers and their crew members…not to mention the officials …are looking forward to a much-needed breather this weekend. (If, for no other reason, than to allow everyone in the NASCAR family to get over the flu…or get their voices back, Hi DW)! Dale Earnhardt Jr. told me, after the Bristol race, that his good run (he finished 5th) would not be wasted…pointing out that his off-weekend would now be, SOOO much better! Oh yeah, last week in Bristol, Kid Rock’s hotel room was beside mine. No party or anything, I actually think he may have been watching HGTV or Grease II, not sure which one, could have gone either way!
Most of you have probably noticed, we’ve made some updates to this website….like the photo gallery!…while other items continue to remain in progress. So what’s up next for the site? A couple of new articles will soon be added to the press page.
I (along with my ’96 Ford Explorer) was honored to recently be featured in Ford’s trade publication, “Inside the Oval.”
And, “Scuba Diving Magazine,” the premiere diver’s publication interviewed yours truly for its monthly “Why I Dive” feature. Diving is something I really enjoy…and wish I could do it more often! It’s so cool to chase those sea turtles!
Oh yes…new Top Five lists should be making their way onto the site soon…in the meantime, heck, we’ll just post them here!
Top Five Easter Candies:
1.
Smucker’s jelly beans
2.
Starburst jelly beans
3.
Reese’s peanut butter eggs
4.
M&M’s stuffed in those ‘lil plastic eggs
5.
Any other kind of jelly beans (have I mentioned that I REALLY like jelly beans?!)
Seriously enjoy your holiday…and I’ll see you from Martinsville!
“Hoppy” Easter!
Best Wishes,
Krista

Oh yeah, I made it to yet another Bon Jovi concert a few weeks ago. Tico was better than ever! Not sure how many times I’ve seen them…pretty sure it’s in the double digits by now. Anyone who knows me, knows Bon Jovi is my all-time favorite group!
In other news…the home renovation took a few more steps towards completion, with our master bath getting finished…thanks to the boys at Greer Tile. If you’re looking for a piece of “great grout” in the ‘burgh, ask for Mike…tell ‘em Krista sent ya! There are still a lot of loose ends to tie up on the house…but for now it’s one step at a time. I’m excited for spring to fully arrive, I just dusted off my mountain bike and kicked the tires! LOL…at least it made me feel better!
I’d better go. Just because it’s an off-weekend, doesn’t mean I’m sitting back doing nothing. I mean c’mon…March Madness is in full swing, Girl Scout Cookies just came in, and it’s tax time…Yippy!
