Voda-Blog : 2/5/08 - It's Daytona Time!
T-minus 12 days and counting!
Of course, I’m talking about The Daytona 500. But this isn’t just any ‘ol 500…it’s the golden anniversary of The Great American Race! Talk about starting off the year with a bang!

Our NASCAR on Fox team has been planning for this milestone event…and for the rest of the season…for awhile now. Meetings, conference calls, email chains. This past week, I traveled to Charlotte for a couple of those meetings. One of the gatherings was for Speed….and your favorite cable channel is planning a lot of new things for 2008, too.

Best Wishes,
Krista

I’ll be a part of a couple of those changes.

First, I’ll be co-anchoring The Gatorade Duel from Daytona. Jeff Hammond and I will partner up again (like we did for last year’s All-Star race) for Thursday February 14th’s main event! Trust me, there won’t be any love lost between the drivers! (yep, that’s the first of what is sure to be many Valentines jokes!)

Second, I’ll be returning to the studio, as an anchor forThe Speed Report, Speed’s Sunday evening motorsports program. It’s a great show…and I’ve always enjoyed the times I’ve filled in. Now, I’ll be a regular…well, sort of. I’ll anchor about 18-20 times throughout the year. You can always click on my site and check out the TV schedule link to find out if I’m anchoring that week. (Of course, that means I’ll have to do a better job of updating my schedule, right?!)
Speaking of updating, while in Charlotte I met with the designer of this website. I told him that a lot of you guys have asked about the photo gallery. So, thanks to you guys, the pressure is on! He’s going to try to get the new photo link up-and-running soon. Thank you to all of you for your patience! And I’m going to do my part, too. How about new Top 5 lists?! Click on the fun stuff link to check them out!

I’ve really enjoyed this off-season…getting the chance to get caught up on our home renovation, especially….but as I get ready to return to my weekly travel schedule, I can’t help but feel psyched for the upcoming season and all of the great stories that are going to come out of it! And I hope to see some of you at the track! If I do, be sure to say hello! Nah, say “Holla!”…like my best friend Hollie would!
See you at the races!
