Voda-Blog : 2/3/09 - Daytona and Daydreams!
Welcome back, everybody! Hope you had a wonderful off-season and enjoyed time with family and friends over the holidays.

2008 was busy…but extremely fulfilling! I had some major moments, both personally and professionally, that will be hard to top. The end of the season was marked by the final Craftsman Truck Series awards banquet. Rick Allen and I, co-hosting for the third year, passed the torch to new sponsor, Camping World. A few weeks later, I covered the Sprint Cup awards banquet for Speed. Christmas in NYC did not disappoint!
From there, I split my time between working, relaxing, visiting, and organizing…just the right combination of each. Well, actually, I could always use a little more organizing…I just never seem to be able to catch up with that! We hosted our first Thanksgiving. 17 people in the new house, followed by a social gathering of about 25! And NO…I was not in charge of cooking. We also made it back to Iowa for Christmas. 27-degrees BELOW when we landed, about 7-inches of snow each day, all of my nieces and nephews in 1 house, and grammie home from the hospital.
Now THAT’S how you do Christmas!

I kicked off The New Year by once again working the FOX sidelines at The Cotton Bowl, alongside my friends Jeanne Zelasko, Brian Baldinger, and the legendary Pat Summerall. From there, I flew to Daytona to shoot The Speed Performance Awards with Tommy Kendall. Be sure to tune in February 5th on Speed to see the show! From Daytona, it was on to Big Sky, MT for a weeklong event. Lots of great skiing, snowmobiling, and fun! I also spent a large chunk of January in Charlotte…attending NASCAR meetings and co-anchoring The Speed Report.

Now, what about the rest of 2009?

I’ll, once again, be pit reporting for NASCAR on FOX from Feb- June.

Once summer hits, I’ll switch over to The Camping World Truck Series on Speed full-time. (Oh yes, I’ll still be a part of the early truck series races…splitting my time between the pre-race show on Speed and my pit duties on FOX)!
And in between it all, I’ll continue to co-anchor The Speed Report on Sunday evenings.

I’ll try to do better at keeping my schedule link updated, so you know when/where to tune in or log on! And I know I’ve said it before, but seriously…blogs will come more often this year. After all, it was one of my New Year’s Resolutions!!!  If you get sick of hearing me talk…you can always read what I have to say! Log onto speedtv.com to check out my monthly articles.

I hope 2009 is your best year ever. And I hope you find a $5 bill in your jeans pocket….because that is simply the best feeling, isn’t it?!

See you at the track or on the tube soon!

Best Wishes,
Krista
