Voda-Blog : October 2009 - The Hub and the Huddle
Hey there…!

A couple of big things going on in the months of October and November.

First, The Hub!
Speed has a new daily show called NASCAR Race Hub.

(I have received tons of emails from Totally NASCAR fans who are so excited that a slice of the “old guard” is back. Thank you so much for the feedback)! The basic concept of the show is to give fans a place to “hang out” during the week...a bridge, if you will, to carry fans from race weekend to race weekend. The King, himself, christened our new show with a visit on our very first day. Be sure and check it out, Mondays-Thursdays at 7:30p eastern, and let me know what you think! I’d love to hear your story ideas, too…just send me an email via the contact link at www.kristavoda.com

Second, The Huddle!  (I’m talking about football)!

My hometown is abuzz because The Clinton River Kings ran the table on the regular season, undefeated for the first time in nearly 25 years. Here’s the thing: I thought the team was undefeated in my senior year…after all, we beat Bettendorf! But my nephew Tarren…who is a junior defensive end on the team…informed me that “my” team had to share the conference title and “his” team won it outright. Duly noted. By the way, congrats to Tarren for recovering a fumble and returning it for a touchdown in the regular season finale. The River Kings are now the #1 seed with home field advantage for the playoffs, which begin this week. I’m excited for the town to rally around the team…and I look forward to reading all about it in The Clinton Herald!

Oh, I almost forgot, if you’re reading this in time for Halloween BE SURE to tune in to the truck series race from Talladega on Saturday afternoon. Hint: it falls ON Halloween! Do you remember, what we did last year for the Halloween race from Texas?! Wizard of Oz! Wait til you see how we attempt to top it! 3:30pm eastern time on Speed!

Until then, enjoy the changing leaves…and have a “spooktacular” fall season!

Best Wishes,
Krista
